Calendar connections for GP locums

Bring your sessions with you

Moving from another locum organiser should not mean typing every booking again. If it can export an .ics calendar file or provide an iCal link, bring those events into Locum Notes and choose which ones become work sessions.

Free to use · 60 days full access, then 5 bookings + 5 CPD entries/month, including AI · All features included · Optional Pro £4.99/month · No card needed

Two simple ways to bring sessions in

Upload an .ics file

Export a calendar file from your current organiser or calendar app, then upload it to Calendar connections. This is a one-off import; you can upload another file later.

Use a private iCal link

If your existing calendar provides an iCal or webcal link, save it in Locum Notes. Check for new events there, or choose to have the link checked each time you open that page.

Review before anything enters your Work log

  • Locum Notes suggests likely work events and flags bookings already recorded.
  • Check the practice and whether a booking is one session or a full day. Set up a new practice and its pay or pension defaults when needed.
  • Confirm only the bookings you want. Importing does not edit your old calendar.

This is an .ics/iCal import, not a direct account-to-account transfer from another organiser. A saved calendar link only suggests new events for review; it does not add sessions silently in the background. The review currently shows events from six months back to a year ahead.

See Locum Notes in Apple or Google Calendar

Create a private calendar link and subscribe from Apple or Google Calendar. Your sessions and activities appear in a separate, view-only calendar; your calendar app decides when to refresh it. Changes made in Apple or Google Calendar do not flow back into Locum Notes.

Imported sessions are included in that subscription by default. If you also view the original calendar, they may appear twice; you can turn off unchanged imported sessions in Calendar connections. Keep the private link to yourself—anyone with it can see the shared calendar.
